Me and my husband had a few days off in a row so we decided that we would have a nice little family night away. It was quite impromptu so we had a search online for ideas on where to go. We didn’t want it to be too far as it was just for the night. A lot of hotels still worked out quite expensive and that is when i had the thought of glamping. We have stayed overnight in a glamping site before and it was good fun so i had a look for some different places. This is when i came across Waveney River Centre. It is on the Norfolk Broads near Beccles and had loads of facilities and the Pods looked super cosy. For £46 a night it was perfect for our little getaway.
We booked it and then later that day headed of on the 1 hour and 20 minute journey to Waveney.
When we got their it did not disappoint. The pods were lovely inside, compromising of two single beds, a double, and a TV. The toilet/shower block was just across the way, and in between there was a lovely kids play area, loads of open space, beautiful views of the boats on the broads and even a swimming pool.
We had a little explore around the park and there is even a lovely pub attached, so we decided to go for a quick drink to let the weather settle before heading back to the pod for a BBQ.
We then settled in the pod for the night, comfy, watching films and having snacks. Perfect.
The next morning we got up and ready for the day, and then headed to the pub, The Waveney Inn, for breakfast. It was really yummy, me and Dan had a cooked breakfast, Noah had Coco Pops, Toast and a banana. After breakfast we had a run around and play in the play area and then went to the swimming pool, both of which Noah enjoyed.
After swimming, we had a last walk around the Broads to look at the boats before heading off home. The scenery was so lovely, and Noah loved seeing all the boats.
I would definitely recommend this as a lovely place to go for a little family getaway. We are already planning on going back again, for a few nights next time. With all the facilities there, it is a great place, where you can just relax and enjoy the amenities they have to offer. Its a great alternative to going abroad if that is a bit out of your price range. I always went on UK holidays when i was younger and loved them.
Here’s their website if you want to take a look, they do camping, glamping and lodges too so something for everyone.
Until next time
