A few months ago, Myself, My husband Dan and Our son Noah, went on a mini one night glamping stay to Waveney River Centre. Now with Casey’s arrival, and it being half term, it was the perfect excuse to go back, and this time, My twin sister Roseanne and her Husband Tim came along too.
We stayed in one of their escape pods again, but this time for 3 days, 2 nights. It was great fun, here is what we got up to.
We headed down on the Thursday afternoon, checked in and made ourselves comfortable. On site they have a play area and a swimming pool that is included in your stay, so before we headed for dinner we had a little swim. It was Casey’s first time swimming, and he loved it.
We then headed out to ‘The Waveney Inn’, which is the pub attached to the complex. We ended up eating here for dinner two nights and breakfast. The food was delicious, and the portion size’s were huge, defiantly get your moneys worth. We all really enjoyed what we ate.
On the Friday, we had researched things to do in the area, and found Oasis’ Camel Park. We thought this would be great for the kids, and none of us had ever been before, so we decided to give it a try. It was a lovely afternoon out, Noah was a little scared of how big some of the animals where but he seemed to enjoy walking around the park, and playing on the play areas they had. We also had a train ride around the park that he liked, Tim was the only one brave enough to feed the animals.
We headed back to the camp site after, had a swim and then popped out for dinner. Once we had settled the boys to sleep, we had S’mores on a little BBQ, which were chocolatey and delicious, and then enjoyed snacks and a film, before bed.
The last day saw us head to Pleasure wood Hills for their Halloween special weekend, ‘Pleasure wood Chills’. We met up with our other sister Charlotte, her husband Wes and their friend Steve and enjoyed a family day of rides, food, fireworks and spooky themed fun. I wasn’t sure how Noah would be on the rides but he actually went on the carousel with us, he loved the safari ride where you ride around in cars, the horse riding ride, he even had a go on a proper mini little roller coaster, which he asked to go on again.
We all had a great day, finished off by there annual fireworks display to finish off the season. It was a brilliant display.
We finished off the holiday by all enjoying a meal at the Harvester near pleasure wood hills, before all heading back to good ol’ Ipswich.
We had a lovely few days, Noah and Casey seemed to really enjoy themselves, I can’t wait to go back again soon.
If you want to check out where we stayed, ill leave that below.
Until next time
