A baby’s 1st Christmas is a really special event, even if they have no idea what’s going on, it’s a big family occasion and to share that with a new addition is lovely. Homemade gifts are also really nice, when you have kids these are extra special, but of course when they are still very little, you can still make special gifts on their behalf.
When I took a trip to hobby craft I had some inspiration to make DIY Christmas decorations to give to family members, to remember Casey’s 1st Christmas. They had plain cardboard style decorations in store, so I picked up a few of them, i then found some ink pads perfect to make hand prints on. Finally i found some gold ‘Merry Christmas’ stickers and that was all I needed, so here’s what I did. Their super easy but so lovely and sentimental, plus you can’t beat a homemade Christmas present really? Especially from children.
I used the ink pad to make a imprint of Casey’s hand, this took the help of my sister to do so it was neat. I then stamped his hand onto the plain decoration on one side and held it for a few seconds, when I lifted it up the imprint came out really nicely onto the decoration. I then stuck the Merry Christmas sticker underneath the hand print and wrote a little message on the backs. Simple!
Here’s how they turned out. Why not try them out if your stuck for ideas for grandparents and friends. Their great especially if your little one is too small to pick out a present themselves.
Until next time
