Welcome to Blogmas Day Twenty! 5 days to go.
Now, lets be honest, one of the best bits of Christmas is the food, lots of sweet treats to indulge in. I thought it would be fun to make some festive treats with my son, so i decided to make some gingerbread cookies.
Here’s what you will need:
*350g Plain Flour
*2 tsp Ground Ginger
*1 tsp Bicarb of soda
*100g Butter
175g Soft Brown Sugar
*1 Egg
*4 tbsp Golden Syrup
Mix all together until into a soft dough. Noah enjoyed this part a lot.
Next up, time yo cut out the shapes.I brought some festive cutters to do this with from Hobby Craft. A stocking and a gingerbread man.
Once you’ve cut out all of your shapes, you can make loads from this mixture, pop them onto a baking tray and cook until golden brown.
The final, and fun part, decorating. We used red food icing just to pipe some small details onto each one but you can decorate them however you like.
Noah really enjoyed making them, and it was a nice little festive activity to do with him, we listened to Christmas songs while doing it, and his favourite part, eating them of course.
Whats your favourite Christmas Treat?
Until next time
Great biscuits Noah! I hope you saved one for Auntie Ro Ro xx
